Technology Career Week

This week we will be meeting in the auditorium to hear presentations from:
Monday: Texas State Technical College
Tuesday: Central Texas College
Wednesday: Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force
Thursday: The Art Institute of Austin

You will have a daily participation grade for attending, and paying polite attention to the presenters. If you are unable to attend on a particular day, please research the presenting college or service, and write a one-half page essay over what types of technology programs they offer, and which careers would benefit from these programs. Print and turn in on my laptop.

2. Use Publisher (11X8.5 Landscape) to create a diagram for the bus, star, ring, line, and tree network topologies. Label each appropriately. Print and turn in on the laptop.
3. Use Publisher (11X8.5 Landscape) to create a network diagram. Use only shapes, do not copy/paste from the Internet. Include a server, 6 workstations, 2 hubs, 1 router, Internet connection, peripherals (printer, scanner, fax machine). Label each appropriately. Print and turn in on the laptop.

1. What did you most like doing during the Publisher Unit?
2. Describe a NEW Publisher assignment or project that you think would be fun and educational.

Assignment:
1. The Stocking Stuffers project is a test grade. Use the rubric/check list to make sure you have completed each portion of the project. DO NOT PRINT SSI_LOGO. Print the business cards, letterhead, coloring page, and flyer. Staple in order and turn in on the laptop.
2. Create a new folder for the Telecommunications & Networking Unit.

Lecture:
Folders are graded only once per grading. If you were absent or attend tutorials to make up missing work, be sure to fill out the slip of paper that tells me to go back to your folder to grade the assignments.

1. Open the birthday card you created during the Purple Packet. Raise your hand for permission to print. Fold the printed card correctly and turn in on my laptop.
